OBI PLASTIC SURGERY CLINIC CONTINUES THEIR COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY SERVICE IN BOTH AESTHETIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE PLASTIC SURGERY

The highly professional and competent staff at the Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic has always provided unparalled care to a broad range of surgery patients. Because of our weakened economy and diminishing insurance reimbursements, our practice writes off more than 50% of insurance charges filed for reconstructive plastic surgery procedures. The Samuel Wells Surgicenter and Dr. Lewis Obi is still one of the few private health care providers that accepts Medicare as well as other insurance providers who fail to provide reimbursements that cover our basic costs. This is only possible because of Dr. Obi’s successful practice that performs many innovative new procedures that have both aesthetic and reconstructive applications. In spite of the economic downturn, Dr. Lewis Obi’s practice has thrived and we are happy to report no downsizing of our staff.

Dr. Lewis Obi is personally proud of his staff’s commitment and loyalty. Obi Plastic Surgery Clinic staff includes Carole, Karen, Michelle, Lisa, Julie, Alyssa, Tina, Denise, Faye, Darlene, Ken, Amelia, Melanie, Debbie, Sherry, Casey and Tori.

OBI PLASTIC SURGERY CLINIC CONTINUES TO BE IN THE FOREFRONT OF PLASTIC SURGERY

"AESTHETIC WARRIOR - Lewis J. Obi, MD, stays very active on plastic surgery’s front lines" was the cover story for the June issue of Plastic Surgery Practice magazine, an international trade publication.

Dr. Lewis Obi has been high profile not only as a comprehensive plastic surgeon but also in the area of clinical research with lasers and stem cell fat grafting. During the past 33 months Dr. Obi has treated nearly 400 patients with SlimLipo (LifeSculpt) laser technology and Adivive Fat Grafting procedures (Palomar Medical Technology Inc.™). Dr. Lewis Obi has lectured at numerous advanced symposia as well as national plastic surgery society meetings. Next month he is scheduled to lecture at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons annual meeting in Denver. Also, Dr. Lewis Obi is working with the most advanced stem cell researchers not only in the United States but also in South Korea and Japan. Current projects include joining an ongoing IRB (Institutional Review Board) in the area of isolating and concentrating stem cells from adult fat. This is an area of intense interest in both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. Also, it is the focus of ongoing research in the area of curative medicine. There are very few private plastic surgery clinics in the U.S. that are so engaged in developing this new technology.

Within the past year, Dr. Lewis Obi has established relationships with the most advanced physicians in the area of stem cell research including Dr. He Young Lee of South Korea (MediKahn), Dr Kotaro Yoshimura of Tokyo and Dr. Mark Berman of California. “I am very privileged to be part of this unique scientific revolution in our specialty of plastic surgery” was a recent comment made by Dr. Lewis Obi to his colleagues.
